Maintaining a school life balance is extremely important while you’re in college. While you are there to study and learn (and you should), it doesn't need to always take up all of your time. A lot of college is also about making new friends and being a part of something new. The best approach is to try and do a little bit of everything; this will also help you become a more well-rounded person! Below we’ve attached some tips that we know will help!
Study outside of your dorm: Having a separate, designated space, like the library, computer lab, or a quiet lounge to complete your work can help you focus. This could even help to train your brain to associate the location with schoolwork. We can't stress this enough: don't do schoolwork in your bed!

Keep a calendar: Get a calendar of some sort. You can use your phone, an app, a planner, whatever will work best for you so you can keep track of all important due dates and events. By keeping a calendar, you can plan the rest of your schedule accordingly, so you know when it’s time to study and when it’s time for fun. There is no shame in writing out everything, even rest breaks and meal breaks. This can help you to not only stay on track but also to better process your time. When you physically see where your time is going, it's easier to adjust it to meet the demands of your life at any point in time.

Set goals and priorities: With so many things and people demanding your time, it’s imperative to have clear goals and use those to set your priorities. One of your top priorities should obviously be your education (that what you are in school for), so give that your attention first. But don't forget, you should also be a top priority, so make sure you give yourself time to take mental breaks and have some fun once in awhile.

Give yourself a day off: Sometimes taking time off actually makes things much better; it gives you strength to handle more pressure, and things start getting better from there on out.
